AN ACT TO REQUIRE A MINIMUM NUMBER OF WOMEN'S REST ROOMS AND DIAPER CHANGING AREAS IN ALL STATE BUILDING FACILITIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.  

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. All state building facilities constructed after July 1, 1998, shall have twice the number of women's rest rooms as men's rest rooms, and shall include baby diaper changing areas, two (2) on each floor level, with one (1) in a women's rest room and one (1) in a men's rest room. All state building facilities existing on July 1, 1998, shall have until January 1, 2000, to meet the requirements of this section.

For the purposes of this section the term "state building facilities" means any building or other facility owned by the State of Mississippi, or by any agency or department of the State of Mississippi, which is occupied or used by the State of Mississippi, or any agency or department of the State of Mississippi, or any junior college district of the State of Mississippi, or the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning of the State of Mississippi, or any institution under the jurisdiction of the Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning of the State of Mississippi.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1998.
