Senate Concurrent Resolution 608

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING PONTOTOC CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT ON ATTAINING LEVEL 5 ACCREDITATION FOR THE 1994-1995, 1995-1996 AND 1996-1997 SCHOOL YEARS. 

WHEREAS, Pontotoc City School District is the only school district in the state to achieve Level 5 accreditation for three consecutive years; and

WHEREAS, during the 1995-1996 school year, the Pontotoc City School District attained a performance index rating of 5.0, thereby receiving an accreditation rating of 5.0, which was the only Level 5 rating awarded during that year; and

WHEREAS, the school board, faculty, administration and staff of Pontotoc Elementary School, D.T. Cox School, Pontotoc Junior High School and Pontotoc High School constantly strive to give the youth of Pontotoc City School District a positive learning environment and superior education; and

WHEREAS, the Pontotoc City School district has achieved these and numerous other accomplishments with a per pupil expenditure, ranking 144th of the 150 Mississippi school districts; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature of the State of Mississippi believes that it is most appropriate to pay special recognition to students, teachers, administrators, staff, school board members and parents of the Pontotoc City School District who show a commitment to educational excellence for the public schools of their city and state:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we hereby commend and congratulate the Pontotoc City School District on attaining Level 5 accreditation for the 1994-1995, 1995-1996 and 1996-1997 school years.
