A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE LIFE AND WORK OF CHARLES J. LIPPIAN AND EXTENDING THE SYMPATHY OF THE LEGISLATURE TO HIS FAMILY UPON HIS DEATH. 

WHEREAS, Charles J. Lippian was born on October 20, 1916, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, he also lived in Pascagoula for 42 years; and

WHEREAS, he was a veteran of World War II; and

WHEREAS, he taught American history at the former Pascagoula Junior High School, now Trent Lott Middle School, for 16 years; and

WHEREAS, he served as state representative from 1972 until 1983; and

WHEREAS, he served as staff assistant to Gene Taylor at the Pascagoula office from 1989-1993; and

WHEREAS, he was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church in Pascagoula; and

WHEREAS, he was also a member of numerous civic, fraternal and religious organizations; and

WHEREAS, he is remembered with great love and affection by his wife, Catherine; his stepson, Joe Gentile; his brother, Joe Lippian; his two grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends; and

WHEREAS, he is sorely missed by his family, friends and colleagues:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the life and work of Charles J. Lippian and extend to his family our deepest sympathy at this time of great loss.
