A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING THE CHOCTAW CENTRAL LADY WARRIORS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR WINNING THE STATE 2A CHAMPIONSHIP.
WHEREAS, the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors basketball team completed their 1996-1997 season with an outstanding record of 33-4, winning their last 21 games; and
WHEREAS, their outstanding sportsmanship and determined competition earned them memorable success in tournament play, culminating in their victory as the State 2A Champions; and
WHEREAS, the members of this championship team include: Randi Williams, Johnita Conrad, Anna Denson, Robin Isaac, Leslie Fuller, Winter Martinez, Brandi Davis, Lindsey Gibson, Renee Wesley, LaHoma Conrad, Marie Wilson, Amelia Smith, Amanda Lilly, LaWanna Willis, Rachel McMillan, Talichiahn Jackson, Laquita King, Leia Bell and Taryn Carey; and
WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors are ably coached and inspired by Coach Willis Tullos; and
WHEREAS, it is a significant achievement for both team and coach to repeat the championship season which saw them capture the State 2A Title in 1995-1996; and
WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to commend outstanding accomplishment on the part of its citizens, especially the young citizens, of this state:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we hereby commend the Choctaw Central Lady Warriors basketball team for attaining the State 2A Championship, and we wish them continued success in the future.
