A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MARILYN LOTT FOR BEING SELECTED AS INSTRUCTOR OF THE YEAR AT THE PERKINSTON CAMPUS OF THE MISSISSIPPI GULF COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. 

WHEREAS, Marilyn Lott, a resident of Perkinston, Mississippi, has been selected as Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College in recognition of her distinguished service to the college; and

WHEREAS, the award was established by the Alumni Association of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College to honor instructors at the college, and the recipient of the award is chosen from nominations submitted by students, faculty and administrators on the basis of their teaching excellence, college service, community service and professional development; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Lott, a Vocal Music instructor, has been an instructor at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College for the past seven years; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Lott, a 1977 graduate of the Perkinston Campus of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, completed her Master's and Bachelor's degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, Marilyn Lott serves as Director of "Mississippi Sound," "Soundwaves," "Soundsations" and the Perkinston choir and travels with these student groups to perform for thousands of students and adults through special college functions, civic organizations, banquets, conventions, workshops, high schools and churches; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend superior service and dedication to the State of Mississippi and its people:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI STATE SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we commend and congratulate Marilyn Lott for her outstanding record and service at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and for being selected as Instructor of the Year at the Perkinston Campus of the college, and we offer our best wishes for her continued success and further contributions.
