Senate Concurrent Resolution 555

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE INGOMAR HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAM UPON WINNING THE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP IN THEIR DIVISION. 

WHEREAS, the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Softball Team won the state championship in their division; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons had an outstanding season, ending with a 33-12 record; and

WHEREAS, the team performed well in tournament play, coming in third in the Senatobia Tournament, second in both the Union City and Ingomar Pre-Season Tournaments, and first in the North Pontotoc Tournament, the 1st Division Tournament and their State Tournament; and

WHEREAS, many individual honors have been bestowed upon various team members in recognition of their fine, dedicated play, with Leah Kirk, Joanna Floyd, Kerrianne Ashley and Amanda Barton being named to the All-State team; and

WHEREAS, the team has been well coached and inspired by Head Coach Chris Kidd and Assistant Coach Jonathan Ashley; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Falcons have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, as their activities and attitude reflect; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evinced by the youth of our state, who are her future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MISSISSIPPI SENATE, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Ingomar High School Lady Falcons Softball Team for their outstanding 1996 season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Ingomar High School and Coach Kidd.
