AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF NORTHWEST MISSISSIPPI COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO LEASE CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY AND IMPROVEMENTS THEREON OWNED BY THE COLLEGE IN SOUTHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Trustees of Northwest Mississippi Community College is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to lease to a suitable lessor certain real property and improvements thereon owned by such district which are located in the City of Southaven, Mississippi, and which are no longer necessary for the use of such district. Any lease executed pursuant to the authority granted in this act shall be for a period of time not to exceed three (3) years and shall be executed based upon sealed, written competitive bids received after advertising therefor once each week for three (3) consecutive weeks in a regular newspaper having general circulation within DeSoto County, Mississippi.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and shall stand repealed on December 31, 2000.
