AN ACT MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE MISSISSIPPI BOARD OF REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL GEOLOGISTS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1998. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In the event that House Bill No. 953, 1997 Regular Session, is enacted into law, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund, not otherwise appropriated, to the Mississippi Board of Registered Professional Geologists for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997, and ending June 30, 1998

$ 50,000.00.

SECTION 2. In the event that House Bill No. 953, 1997 Regular Session, is enacted into law, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State Treasury to the credit of the Mississippi Board of Registered Professional Geologists for the purpose of defraying the expenses of the Board, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1997, and ending June 30, 1998 $ 104,500.00.

SECTION 3. With the funds appropriated under the provisions of Sections 1 and 2, the following positions are authorized:

SECTION 4. It is the intention of the Legislature that the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1 shall be considered a loan from the State General Fund to assist the Mississippi Board of Registered Professional Geologists with start-up costs, pursuant to House Bill No. 953, 1997 Regular Session. It is further the intention of the Legislature that none of the funds appropriated under the provisions of Section 1 shall be made available to the Mississippi Board of Registered Professional Geologists unless the Board enters into a written agreement with the State Fiscal Officer for the loan to be repaid to the State General Fund during fiscal year 1998.

SECTION 5. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund or the proper special fund, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 6. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after approval by the Governor of House Bill No. 953, 1997 Regular Session, or upon approval by the Legislature subsequent to a veto.
