AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF FORREST COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Forrest County, Mississippi, is hereby authorized and empowered, in its discretion, to contribute during calendar year 1997, out of any available county funds, to the Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc., an amount not to exceed Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) to support such association in promoting the growth, prosperity, development and revitalization of downtown Hattiesburg.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
