AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY OF BILOXI TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE UNITED WAY TO ASSIST IN DEFRAYING THE COSTS OF DEVELOPING A SOCIAL SERVICES CENTER; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Biloxi, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute to the United Way of South Mississippi out of any available county funds an amount not to exceed Twenty-five Thousand Dollars ($25,000.00) to assist the United Way in developing a facility in the City of Gulfport to house the United Way and other social service agencies in the South Mississippi area.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
