AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF HATTIESBURG TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE HATTIESBURG DOWNTOWN ASSOCIATION, INC.; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to contribute during calendar year 1997, out of any available municipal funds, to the Hattiesburg Downtown Association, Inc., an amount not to exceed Twenty-four Thousand Dollars ($24,000.00) to support such Association in promoting the growth, prosperity, development and revitalization of downtown Hattiesburg.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
