AN ACT TO REQUIRE THAT NEW MOBILE HOMES SOLD IN THIS STATE SHALL HAVE ATTACHED THERETO AN IDENTIFICATION PLATE WHICH SHALL CONTAIN THE NAME AND SERIAL NUMBER OF THE MOBILE HOME; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. All new mobile homes (as such term is defined in Section 75-49-3, Mississippi Code of 1972) which are sold in Mississippi shall have attached thereto an identification plate which shall be located in an accessible position so that it can be readily examined whether the home is underpinned or not. The information printed on such plate shall include the name and serial number of the mobile home.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
