AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 83-5-27, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH PROHIBITS INSURERS FROM MAKING AVAILABLE, THROUGH CERTAIN TYPES OF INSURANCE, ANY PREFERRED RATE OR PREMIUM BASED UPON FICTITIOUS GROUPING OF INDIVIDUALS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 83-5-27, Mississippi Code of 1972, which prohibits insurers from making available, through certain types of insurance, any preferred rate or premium based upon fictitious grouping of individuals, is hereby repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
