AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS TO CONTRACT WITH THE KEMPER COUNTY CORRECTIONAL FACILITY AUTHORITY TO HOUSE STATE INMATES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Department of Corrections may contract with the "Kemper County Correctional Facility Authority," a public body authorized in House Bill No. 1728, 1996 Regular Session, for the incarceration of state inmates at the facility in Kemper County. Any contract must comply with the requirements of Sections 47-5-1301 through 47-5-1317, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
