AN ACT MAKING AN ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION OF STATE GENERAL FUNDS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ARCHIVES AND HISTORY FOR THE PURPOSE OF RESTORING THE COKER HOUSE IN EDWARDS, MISSISSIPPI, ON THE CHAMPION HILL BATTLEFIELD, FOR FISCAL YEARS 1997 AND 1998. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. In addition to all other sums heretofore appropriated, the following sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, is hereby appropriated out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, to the Department of Archives and History for the period beginning upon passage and ending June 30, 1998 $ 324,000.00.

SECTION 2. This additional appropriation is made for the purpose of providing funds for the restoration of the Coker House, a Mississippi and National Historic Landmark carrying a federal Priority One status, located in Edwards, Mississippi, on the Champion Hill Battlefield.

SECTION 3. The money herein appropriated shall be paid by the State Treasurer out of any money in the State General Fund not otherwise appropriated, upon warrants issued by the State Fiscal Officer; and the State Fiscal Officer shall issue his warrants upon requisitions signed by the proper person, officer or officers in the manner provided by law.

SECTION 4. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and through June 30, 1998.
