AN ACT TO DEFINE THE TERM "VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTER" FOR THE PURPOSE OF THE STATUTES OF THIS STATE; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Whenever the term "volunteer fire fighter" is used in any statute, it means, unless otherwise specifically provided in such statute, any person who provides fire protection and other related emergency services who receives no compensation or who is reimbursed for actual expenses or per call expenses.

SECTION 2. Section 1 of this act shall be codified in Chapter 3 of Title 1, Mississippi Code of 1972.

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
