A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE CHOCTAW CENTRAL HIGH SCHOOL LADY WARRIORS BASKETBALL TEAM FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING 1996-1997 SEASON AND FOR WINNING THE 2A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP. 

WHEREAS, the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team finished the 1996-1997 season with an outstanding record of 33 wins and 4 losses; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors did well in tournament play this year, winning the 2A State Championship for the second consecutive year; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Willis Tullos, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, the members of the Lady Warriors championship team include: Randi Williams, Johnita Conrad, Anna Denson, Robin Isaac, Leslie Fuller, Winter Martinez, Brandi Davis, Lindsey Gibson, Renee Wesley, LaHoma Conrad, Marie Wilson, Amelia Smith, Amanda Lilly, LaWanna Willis, Rachel McMillan, Talichiahn Jackson, Laquita King, Leia Bell and Taryn Carey; and

WHEREAS, the Lady Warriors have developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect a great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to their school; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth or our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the Choctaw Central High School Lady Warriors Basketball Team and their coach, Willis Tullos, for their outstanding 1996-1997 season and for winning the 2A State Championship and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Choctaw Central High School and to Coach Willis Tullos.
