A HOUSE RESOLUTION COMMENDING MAC FLEMING FOR HIS SERVICE AS PRESIDENT OF THE BROTHERHOOD OF MAINTENANCE OF WAY EMPLOYEES, USA AND CANADA. 

WHEREAS, Mac Fleming was born on September 22, 1945, in Walnut Grove, Mississippi, moved to Clarke County in 1952 when he was seven years old, graduated from Quitman High School in 1964 and then left Clarke County in 1968 to move to the State of Colorado; and

WHEREAS, Mac Fleming has served in several important positions of leadership and has proved himself to be a qualified leader in each of his past leadership roles, and some of those roles include serving as a Board Member of the Santa Fe Hospital Association, an Executive Council Member of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO), Vice President of the High Speed Rail/Maglev Association, Advisory Board Member of the American Income Life Insurance Company, Chairman of the Cooperating Railway Labor Organizations, and Chairman of the Legislative Committee of the Railway Labor Executives' Association; and

WHEREAS, Mac Fleming has served since 1972 in several positions of leadership in the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe System Federation of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, including System Organizer from 1972 to 1973, Assistant Chairman, Secretary-Treasurer from 1974-1975, Vice Chairman from 1975 to 1980, General Chairman from 1980 to 1986, and as Secretary-Treasurer of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees from 1986 to 1990; and

WHEREAS, Mac Fleming, whose resume' is a literal record of dedication and loyal leadership to the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, has diligently served as President of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees since 1990; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend excellence in leadership, especially when it is exhibited by one of its native sons on a national level:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That we do hereby commend Mr. Mac Fleming for his years of dedicated service as President of the Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees, USA and Canada.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Mr. Mac Fleming and the members of the Capitol Press Corps.
