A RESOLUTION TO CREATE A NEW HOUSE RULE TO REQUIRE THE MEMBER WHO IS EXPLAINING A CONFERENCE REPORT TO THE HOUSE TO READ OR SUFFICIENTLY EXPLAIN ANY LANGUAGE IN THE CONFERENCE REPORT THAT IS DIFFERENT FROM THE LANGUAGE THAT WAS IN THE VERSION OF THE BILL AS IT WAS PASSED BY THE HOUSE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That the 1996-2000 Rules of the House are amended by creating a new rule to read as follows:
"___. When a conference report is under consideration by the House, and the conference report contains any language that is different from the language that was in the version of the bill or resolution as it was passed or adopted by the House, the member who is explaining the conference report must read to the House the different language from the conference report or sufficiently explain the different language to the House, before the House may vote on adopting the conference report."
