A RESOLUTION TO CREATE A NEW HOUSE RULE TO PROHIBIT SMOKING IN THE HOUSE CHAMBER OR THE HOUSE GALLERY WHILE THE HOUSE IS IN DAILY SESSION, EXCEPT IN DESIGNATED SMOKING AREAS; AND TO REQUIRE THE HOUSE MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE TO DESIGNATE SMOKING AREAS IN THE HOUSE CHAMBER AND THE HOUSE GALLERY.  

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, That the Rules of the House are amended by creating a new rule to read as follows:

"_____. Smoking shall not be permitted in the House chamber or the House gallery during any daily session of the House from the time the session is convened until the time the session is adjourned, except in designated smoking areas. The House Management Committee shall designate certain locations in the House chamber and the House gallery as smoking areas, which shall be marked by signs located in or near those areas. The Sergeant at Arms shall enforce the provisions of this rule."
