A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION CONGRATULATING AND COMMENDING A NUMBER OF DEDICATED EDUCATORS AND SCHOOL STAFF EMPLOYEES ON THEIR RETIREMENT FROM THE LOWNDES COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AFTER MANY YEARS OF OUTSTANDING SERVICE. 

WHEREAS, the following educators and school staff employees retired from the Lowndes County School District in 1996 and 1997 after rendering many years of dedicated service: Robert Brock, with 26 years of service; Helen Grantham, with 30 years of service; Brenda Willis, with 26 years of service; Sarah Egger, with 32 years of service; Juanice Hayes, with 33 years of service; Karen Shelton, with 29 years of service; Bernice Ryan, with 35 years of service; Rosie Gardner, with 25 years of service; Margaret Hairston, with 27 years of service; Luberta Anthony, with 19 years of service; and Josephine Webber, with 37 years of service; and

WHEREAS, these retirees are worthy of commendation and recognition for their unselfish commitment and total dedication to the students of the Lowndes County School District; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend excellence, especially when evidenced by people who have dedicated so many years of their lives to developing and cultivating the minds and bodies of the many young Mississippians with whom they have come in contact during their illustrious careers:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize, commend and congratulate all those educators and school staff employees who retired in 1996 and 1997 from the Lowndes County School District after giving so many years of dedicated service in educating the youth of this state.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the Board of Trustees of the Lowndes County School District and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
