House Concurrent Resolution 145

A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING CATAPHOTE ON BECOMING THE WORLD LEADER IN THE REFLECTIVE PAVEMENT MARKINGS INDUSTRY. 

WHEREAS, the Mississippi Legislature encourages entrepreneurial endeavors in our state and recognizes those who have achieved national notoriety and prestige for excelling in business in the State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, in 1949, Cataphote located in Flowood, Mississippi, and has grown to become the largest manufacturer of industrial glass beads and reflective thermoplastic highway markings in the entire world; and

WHEREAS, the 180 employees of Cataphote contribute to the care of our environment by annually recycling 100 million pounds of glass; and

WHEREAS, Cataphote is recognized in Europe and the rest of the world as being the industrial leader in glass bead technology; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of this Legislature to commend excellence:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend Cataphote on becoming the world leader in the reflective pavement markings industry.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to Cataphote and to members of the Capitol Press Corps.
