A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING AND COMMENDING THE STATE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION, THE HOECHST MARION ROUSSEL CORPORATION, THE AMERICAN HOME PRODUCTS CORPORATION, THE BRISTOL-MEYERS SQUIBB COMPANY, MERCK & COMPANY, INCORPORATED, THE SANDOZ PHARMACEUTICALS CORPORATION, THE BAYER PHARMACEUTICAL DIVISION AND THE LEGISLATIVE "DOCTOR OF THE DAY" VOLUNTEERS. 

WHEREAS, the State Medical Association has been extremely helpful and of great benefit to the Mississippi Legislature throughout the 1997 Regular Session by making doctors available to serve the medical needs of the Legislature and its staff; and

WHEREAS, the "Doctor of the Day" volunteers have been a great service and provide an immeasurable benefit to the entire Legislature and its staff for which no amount of thanks and praise would ever be adequate; and

WHEREAS, it is incumbent upon this legislative body to show its appreciation and gratitude to the Hoescht Marion Roussel Corporation, the American Home Products Corporation, the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Company, Merck & Company, Incorporated, the Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the Bayer Pharmaceutical Division for the medicine which they donated to the Legislature for prescription by the "Doctor of the Day"; and

WHEREAS, the "Doctor of the Day" volunteers include: Fred L. McMillan, M.D., Jackson, Opthalmology; William Wooten, M.D., Vicksburg, Internal Medicine; Francis S. Morrison, M.D., Jackson, Internal Medicine; John J. McGraw, M.D., Laurel, Orthopedic Surgery; Risher Watts, M.D., Sumrall, Family Practice; Frederick B. Carlton, Jr., M.D., Jackson, Emergency Medicine; George V. Smith, M. D., Grenada, General Surgery; James C. Graham, M.D., Shubuta, Family Practice; Daniel P. WHEREAS, it has always been and will forever be the policy of this Legislature to show its most humble appreciation, gratitude and thanks to each of those people who freely give of their time, abilities and resources to give benefit to this Legislative body:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby recognize and commend the State Medical Association, the Hoescht Marion Roussel Corporation, the American Home Products Corporation, the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Company, Merck & Company, Incorporated, the Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the Bayer Pharmaceutical Division and all of the "Doctor of the Day" volunteers for the service that they donated freely to this Legislature.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to the State Medical Association, the Hoescht Marion Roussel Corporation, the American Home Products Corporation, the Bristol-Meyers Squibb Company, Merck & Company, Incorporated, the Sandoz Pharmaceuticals Corporation, the Bayer Pharmaceutical Division and all of the "Doctor of the Day" volunteers.
