A CONCURRENT RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE NEW HOPE HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL TEAM FOR THEIR PERFECT 1996 SEASON. 

WHEREAS, the New Hope High School Baseball Team finished the 1996 season with a perfect record of 43 wins and 0 losses, the best record ever achieved by a high school team in the State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, New Hope finished the 1996 season as the Number 1 ranked high school baseball team in the State of Mississippi; and

WHEREAS, New Hope has been superbly coached and inspired by Coach Stacy Hester, who has broadened the players' knowledge of the game and refined their skills in execution; and

WHEREAS, Coach Stacy Hester has brought additional honor to himself and to New Hope High School by being selected as the 1996 National High School Baseball Coach of the Year; and

WHEREAS, the New Hope Baseball Team has developed a winning and cooperative spirit and a high degree of sportsmanship, and their activities and attitude reflect great credit upon the individual players and their coach and bring honor to New Hope High School; and

WHEREAS, it is the policy of the Legislature to recognize and commend excellence, especially when evidenced by the youth of our state, who are its future:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend and congratulate the New Hope High School Baseball Team and their coach, Stacy Hester, for their perfect 1996 season and for displaying tireless devotion to their athletic endeavors.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be furnished to New Hope High School and Coach Stacy Hester.
