AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 934, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF 1993, TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE TOWN OF PLANTERSVILLE TO EXTEND THE TOWN'S POLICE JURISDICTION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. (1) The governing authorities of the Town of Plantersville, Mississippi, are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to extend the police jurisdiction of the Town of Plantersville to an area seven hundred fifty (750) feet on each side of the centerline of the Plantersville and Verona Public Road in Lee County, Mississippi, beginning where the centerline crosses the west corporate line of the Town of Plantersville and running west along the centerline a distance of one (1) mile. Any police jurisdiction of the Town of Plantersville granted pursuant to this act shall be concurrent with the jurisdiction of Lee County, Mississippi.

(2) The governing authorities of the Town of Plantersville, Mississippi, in their discretion, may extend the police jurisdiction of the Town of Plantersville to an area seven hundred fifty (750) feet on each side of the centerline of the State Park Road in Lee County, Mississippi, beginning where the centerline crosses the east corporate line of the Town of Plantersville and running east along the centerline a distance of one and three-tenths (1-3/10) miles. Any police jurisdiction of the Town of Plantersville granted under this act shall be concurrent with the jurisdiction of Lee County, Mississippi.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
