AN ACT TO AMEND CHAPTER 924, LOCAL AND PRIVATE LAWS OF 1992, TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY, MISSISSIPPI, TO ASSESS A FEE OF $1.00 ON EACH COUNTY, CIRCUIT AND CHANCERY COURT CASE IN LAUDERDALE COUNTY TO FUND DRUG-RELATED EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS WITHIN THE COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Chapter 924, Local and Private Laws of 1992, is amended as follows:

Section 1. The Board of Supervisors of Lauderdale County, Mississippi, is authorized to assess, in addition to any other assessments and court costs, a One Dollar ($1.00) per case fee on all justice, county, circuit and chancery court cases in Lauderdale County.

Section 2. The monies derived from the assessed fees shall be used to fund the DARE Program or other drug-related educational programs within the county.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
