AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF HINDS COUNTY TO REFUND TO CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI CIVIC IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION, INC., CERTAIN ERRONEOUSLY PAID AD VALOREM TAXES; TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF JACKSON, MISSISSIPPI, TO REFUND TO CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI CIVIC IMPROVEMENT ASSOCIATION, INC., CERTAIN ERRONEOUSLY PAID AD VALOREM TAXES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

 

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Hinds County, Mississippi, is hereby authorized, in its discretion, to pay to Central Mississippi Civic Improvement Association, Inc., d/b/a Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, an amount not to exceed Thirty Thousand Forty-three Dollars and Fifty-five Cents ($30,043.55) as a refund of ad valorem taxes erroneously paid by such entity to Hinds County for tax years 1988 through 1995, which taxes consist of Nine Thousand Eighty-seven Dollars and Forty-two Cents ($9,087.42) for Hinds County ad valorem taxes, and Twenty Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-six Dollars and Thirteen Cents ($20,956.13) for Jackson, Mississippi, Public School District ad valorem taxes.

SECTION 2. The governing authorities of the City of Jackson, Mississippi, are authorized, in their discretion, to pay to Central Mississippi Civic Improvement Association, Inc., d/b/a Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center, an amount not to exceed Fourteen Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-nine Dollars and Seventy-two Cents ($14,759.72) as a refund of ad valorem taxes erroneously paid by such entity for City of Jackson, Mississippi, ad valorem taxes for tax years 1988 through 1995.

 

SECTION 3. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
