AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF FORREST COUNTY TO CONTRIBUTE TO ASSIST IN THE OPERATION OF CHILD ABUSE CENTERS THAT ARE SPONSORED BY A PRIVATE AGENCY WITH FEDERAL TAX EXEMPT STATUS AS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION, OR BY ANOTHER PUBLIC AGENCY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Board of Supervisors of Forrest County, Mississippi, may, in its discretion, contribute only to child abuse centers that are sponsored by a private agency with federal tax exempt status as a nonprofit organization or by another public agency, out of any available county funds, an amount not to exceed Three Thousand Dollars ($3,000.00) in the aggregate, during calendar year 1997.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
