AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE COMMISSIONER OF CORRECTIONS TO EXPEND ANY FUNDS AVAILABLE IN THE CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES EMERGENCY CONSTRUCTION FUND FOR THE HOUSING OF TWO HUNDRED ADDITIONAL OFFENDERS AT THE PRIVATE CORRECTIONAL FACILITY AUTHORIZED IN MARSHALL OR WILKINSON COUNTY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Commissioner of Corrections, upon the approval of the Department of Finance and Administration, may expend such money as may be available in the Correctional Facilities Emergency Construction Fund for the housing of two hundred (200) additional offenders at the facility authorized under Section 47-5-1207.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
