AN ACT TO REQUIRE PERSONS, FIRMS OR CORPORATIONS THAT ENGAGE IN THE BUSINESS OF PROCESSING VENISON FOR THE PUBLIC FOR A FEE TO PROVIDE EACH CUSTOMER A RECEIPT SHOWING THE PRE-PROCESSING WEIGHT OF THE DEER CARCASS BROUGHT IN FOR PROCESSING; TO PROVIDE THAT ONE CUSTOMERS VENISON SHALL NOT BE CO-MINGLED WITH ANOTHER CUSTOMER VENISON; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. (1) Any person, firm or corporation that engages in the business of processing venison for the public for a fee shall provide to each customer a receipt showing the preprocessing weight of the deer carcass, or parts thereof, brought in for processing.
(2) Venison belonging to one (1) customer shall not be co-mingled with venison belonging to another customer.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
