AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT WHENEVER A TANF RECIPIENT SEEKS EMPLOYMENT WITH THE STATE EMPLOYMENT SERVICE, THE EMPLOYMENT SECURITY COMMISSION SHALL ENTER THE RECIPIENT IN JOB PLACEMENT SERVICES AND SHALL PROVIDE INTENSIVE JOB DEVELOPMENT AND JOB REFERRAL ASSISTANCE TO THE RECIPIENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Whenever a recipient of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits seeks employment opportunities through the Mississippi State Employment Service, the Mississippi Employment Security Commission shall enter the recipient in the job placement services of the State Employment Service and shall provide intensive job development and job referral assistance to the recipient in order to help the recipient become employed.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
