AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 63-3-311, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE THE USE OF FLASHING GREEN SIGNLALS TO INDICATE CAUTION FOR VEHICULAR TRAFFIC; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 63-3-311, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

63-3-311. Whenever flashing red, yellow or green signals are used they shall require obedience by vehicular traffic as follows:

(a) Flashing red (stop signal). When a red lens is illuminated by rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of vehicles shall stop before entering the nearest crosswalk at an intersection or at a limit line when marked and the right to proceed shall be subject to the rules applicable after making a stop at a stop sign.

(b) Flashing yellow or green (caution signal). When a yellow or green lens is illuminated with rapid intermittent flashes, drivers of vehicles may proceed through the intersection or past such signal only with caution.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
