AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 63-5-23, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN RESTRICTIONS ON THE PROJECTION OF THE LOAD ON VEHICLES BEYOND THE FRONT WHEELS OR FRONT BUMPER OF THE VEHICLE SHALL NOT BE APPLICABLE TO AERIAL LIFT DEVICES USED BY UTILITY COMPANIES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. Section 63-5-23, Mississippi Code of 1972, is amended as follows:

63-5-23. The load upon any vehicle operated alone, or the load upon the front vehicle of a combination of vehicles, shall not extend more than three (3) feet beyond the front wheels of such vehicle or the front bumper of such vehicle if it is equipped with such bumper. This section shall not be applicable to aerial lift devices used by utility companies in normal or emergency work.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
