House Bill 1285

AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNOR TO ENTER INTO RECIPROCAL AGREEMENTS WITH CONTIGUOUS STATE TO ALLOW LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO PURSUE PERPETRATORS OF CRIMES INTO SUCH CONTIGUOUS STATES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The Governor is authorized to enter into reciprocal agreements with contiguous states to allow law enforcement officers engaged in the pursuit of persons violating the laws of this state to cross the state line into such contiguous states for the purpose of apprehending such persons violating the laws of this state. The Governor shall consult the Attorney General for assistance in making such reciprocal agreements.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
