AN ACT TO PROVIDE THAT THE MISSISSIPPI DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION SHALL ERECT AND MAINTAIN SIGNS ON AND ALONG THE INTERSTATE HIGHWAYS IN THIS STATE PROVIDING THE CELLULAR TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE MISSISSIPPI HIGHWAY SAFETY PATROL; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. The Mississippi Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain signs on and along the interstate highways in this state providing the cellular telephone number of the Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol. Such signs shall be located not more than fifty (50) miles apart along the interstate highways and all letters, numbers and characters appearing on such signs shall be large enough to be clearly legible by passing motorists.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
