AN ACT TO REPEAL SECTION 99-17-1, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, WHICH REQUIRES THAT INDICTMENTS BE TRIED WITHIN 270 DAYS OF ARRAIGNMENT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:
SECTION 1. Section 99-17-1, Mississippi Code of 1972, which requires that indictments be tried within two hundred seventy (270) days of arraignment, is repealed.
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
