AN ACT TO MAKE THE BONITA LAKES AREA IN LAUDERDALE COUNTY A STATE PARK UNDER THE MANAGEMENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS; TO AUTHORIZE THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF LAUDERDALE COUNTY TO DONATE THE BONITA LAKES AREA TO THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. There is established on the Bonita Lakes Area in Lauderdale County a state park to be managed by the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks in accordance with its powers and duties under Section 55-3-33.

The Board of Supervisors of Lauderdale County is authorized to donate the Bonita Lakes Area to the state to be managed as a state park as provided in this section.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after July 1, 1997.
