AN ACT TO RELIEVE LOCAL BUILDING AND PLANNING DEPARTMENTS OF THE DUTY TO INSPECT THE STRUCTURAL PLANS AND RELATED JOB SITE OF A LICENSED MISSISSIPPI ARCHITECT; TO REQUIRE THE ISSUANCE OF A BUILDING PERMIT IN THREE DAYS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. If a county or municipality contracts with an architect licensed and regularly practicing in the State of Mississippi, the building or planning department of such city of county shall be relieved of the duty of inspecting the structural plans and job site regarding such contract. The plans must have the architect's seal in order to relieve the building or planning department of the duty of inspecting such plans. The county or municipality shall issue a building permit in ten (10) working days after the submission of such plans if such plans are consistent with the provisions of the contract for a project.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage.
