AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF MENDENHALL TO EXPEND CITY FUNDS AND USE CITY EMPLOYEES AND CITY EQUIPMENT TO MOW AND WEEDEAT THE GROUNDS OF CERTAIN PUBLICLY AND/OR PRIVATELY OWNED CEMETERIES LOCATED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES. 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI:

SECTION 1. The governing authorities of the City of Mendenhall, Mississippi, in their discretion, may expend city funds and use city employees and city equipment to perform services the city deems necessary for mowing and weedeating the grounds of any publicly and/or privately owned cemeteries located within the corporate limits of the city. The governing authorities may not perform such services for any cemetery which is owned by, or affiliated with, any church or other religious organization.

SECTION 2. This act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage and shall stand repealed from and after September 30, 2005.
