Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTIONS 23-15-833 AND 23-15-981, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT THE SECOND MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ELECTION, IF NECESSARY, SHALL BE HELD THREE WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST MUNICIPAL PRIMARY ELECTION; TO AMEND SECTION 23-15-857, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT MUNICIPAL SPECIAL ELECTIONS SHALL BE HELD IN TWO WEEKS; TO PROVIDE THAT THE RUNOFF ELECTION FOR VACANCIES IN COUNTY OFFICE, COUNTY DISTRICT OFFICE AND MUNICIPAL OFFICE, IF NECESSARY, SHALL BE HELD THREE WEEKS AFTER THE DATE DESIGNATED FOR THE INITIAL ELECTION; TO PROVIDE THAT THE SECOND ELECTION FOR JUDICIAL OFFICE, IF NECESSARY, SHALL BE HELD THREE WEEKS AFTER THE FIRST ELECTION; TO AMEND SECTION 23-15-153, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO AUTHORIZE THE PAYMENT OF PER DIEM TO ELECTION COMMISSIONERS, FROM THE COUNTY GENERAL FUND, FOR THE PERFORMANCE OF CERTAIN DUTIES IN A RUNOFF ELECTION FOLLOWING EITHER A GENERAL OR SPECIAL ELECTION; TO AMEND SECTION 23-15-227, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO INCREASE THE COMPENSATION PAID TO MANAGERS AND CLERKS OF THE ELECTION; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
