Title: AN ACT TO AUTHORIZE THE GOVERNING AUTHORITIES OF THE CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS, MISSISSIPPI, TO LEVY A TAX UPON THE SALE OF PREPARED FOOD AND BEVERAGES IN RESTAURANTS AND BARS IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED TWO PERCENT OF GROSS PROCEEDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROMOTING TOURISM AND IMPROVING RECREATION, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND PUBLIC SAFETY IN THE CITY; TO REQUIRE THE TAX, BEFORE ITS IMPOSITION, TO BE APPROVED BY SIXTY PERCENT OF QUALIFIED ELECTORS VOTING IN A REFERENDUM ON THE QUESTION OF LEVYING THE TAX; TO PROVIDE THAT THE TAX SHALL BE COLLECTED BY THE STATE TAX COMMISSION AND PAID TO THE CITY OF OCEAN SPRINGS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
