Title: AN ACT TO REQUIRE A PERSON APPLYING FOR ENROLLMENT AT A STATE INSTITUTION OF HIGHER LEARNING TO SUBMIT WITH THE APPLICATION A CERTIFIED COPY OF THE APPLICANT’S BIRTH CERTIFICATE, TO REQUIRE AN APPLICANT BORN OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES TO PRESENT CERTAIN EVIDENCE TO THE STATE INSTITUTION OF THE APPLICANT’S CITIZENSHIP OR LEGAL IMMIGRATION STATUS, AND TO PROHIBIT THE ENROLLMENT OF PERSONS FAILING TO PROVIDE SUCH EVIDENCE; TO AMEND SECTION 37-103-23, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CLARIFY THAT ALL ALIENS WHO ARE LEGAL IMMIGRANTS ARE CLASSIFIED AS NONRESIDENTS OF THE STATE, NOTWITHSTANDING THEIR PLACE OF DOMICILE IN THE UNITED STATES, FOR TUITION PURPOSES; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
