Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 27-33-29, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT DWELLING HOUSES LOCATED IN THE COUNTIES OF THE STATE COVERED BY THE PRESIDENTIAL DECLARATION OF MAJOR DISASTER DATED AUGUST 29, 2005, THAT ARE DAMAGED OR DESTROYED AS A RESULT OF HURRICANE KATRINA SO THAT THE FAMILY GROUP IS COMPELLED TO TEMPORARILY RESIDE IN ANOTHER PLACE SHALL CONTINUE TO BE A HOME UNDER THE HOMESTEAD EXEMPTION LAWS FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
