Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 29-3-45, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO ALLOW FOR THE WAIVER OF THE PUBLIC NOTICE REQUIREMENT IN THE EVENT THAT TIMBER ON SIXTEENTH SECTION LANDS MUST BE CLEARED FROM AN EXISTING ROAD OR EXISTING UTILITY RIGHT-OF-WAY; TO PROVIDE THAT DUE TO HURRICANE KATRINA, A SCHOOL BOARD SHALL BE GRANTED EMERGENCY POWERS TO TAKE ANY AND ALL ACTIONS OF A REASONABLY PRUDENT TRUSTEE TO RECOVER DAMAGED TIMBER, PREVENT FURTHER LOSS OR DAMAGE TO TIMBER, AND TO MINIMIZE ECONOMIC LOSS; TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY AUTHORITY TO THE LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
