Title: AN ACT CREATE THE HOSPITAL INFECTIONS DISCLOSURE ACT; TO REQUIRE HOSPITALS TO COLLECT DATA ON HOSPITAL-ACQUIRED INFECTION RATES FOR THE SPECIFIC CLINICAL PROCEDURES DETERMINED BY THE STATE BOARD OF HEALTH BY REGULATION AND SUBMIT QUARTERLY REPORTS ON THEIR HOSPITAL-ACQUIRED INFECTION RATES TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH; TO PROVIDE FOR THE APPOINTMENT OF AN ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO ASSIST THE DEPARTMENT IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ALL ASPECTS OF THE DEPARTMENT'S METHODOLOGY FOR COLLECTING, ANALYZING AND DISCLOSING THE INFORMATION COLLECTED UNDER THIS ACT; TO DIRECT THE DEPARTMENT TO SUBMIT AN ANNUAL REPORT TO THE LEGISLATURE SUMMARIZING THE HOSPITAL QUARTERLY REPORTS; TO PROVIDE THAT HOSPITAL REPORTS AND DEPARTMENT DISCLOSURES SHALL NOT CONTAIN INFORMATION IDENTIFYING A PATIENT, EMPLOYEE OR LICENSED HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL IN CONNECTION WITH A SPECIFIC INFECTION INCIDENT; TO PROVIDE PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS OF THIS ACT; TO AMEND SECTION 41-9-15, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO CONFORM TO THE PRECEDING PROVISIONS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
