Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 73-67-21, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT ANY PERSON WHO HAS PRACTICED MASSAGE THERAPY FOR MORE THAN TWENTY-FIVE YEARS BEFORE THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT, WHO IS EMPLOYED AS A MASSAGE THERAPIST BY A NONPROFIT YMCA OR YWCA ON THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ACT, IS EXEMPT FROM HAVING TO TAKE AN EXAMINATION FOR REGISTRATION UNDER THE PROFESSIONAL MASSAGE THERAPY ACT; TO PROVIDE THAT PERSONS EXEMPT UNDER THIS ACT MAY APPLY FOR A MASSAGE THERAPY CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2006, BUT MAY NOT PRACTICE MASSAGE THERAPY AFTER THAT DATE UNLESS A VALID CERTIFICATE OF REGISTRATION IS OBTAINED; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
