Title: AN ACT TO CREATE NEW SECTION 25-11-126, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT CERTAIN PERSONS WHO WERE EMPLOYED AS CONSERVATION OFFICERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS RECEIVING A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE FROM THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM WHO ARE EMPLOYED AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS AFTER THEIR RETIREMENT, AND CERTAIN CONSERVATION OFFICERS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE, FISHERIES AND PARKS WHO ARE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE FROM THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM, MAY RECEIVE A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE DURING THEIR EMPLOYMENT AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IN ADDITION TO RECEIVING A SALARY FOR THEIR EMPLOYMENT AS A LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER; TO PROVIDE THAT THOSE PERSONS SHALL NOT BE CONTRIBUTING MEMBERS OF THE RETIREMENT SYSTEM NOR RECEIVE ANY CREDITABLE SERVICE FOR THE PERIOD DURING WHICH THEY RECEIVE A RETIREMENT ALLOWANCE DURING THEIR EMPLOYMENT AS LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS; TO AMEND SECTIONS 25-11-103, 25-11-105 AND 25-11-127, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE PROVISIONS OF THIS ACT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
