Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 37-9-14, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS WHERE THE SUPERINTENDENT IS ELECTED AND THE SUPERINTENDENT IS NOT REELECTED TO CONTINUE SERVING AS SUPERINTENDENT OF THAT SCHOOL DISTRICT, THEN THAT SUPERINTENDENT SHALL NOT BRING DISMISSAL ACTIONS AGAINST CONTRACTED EMPLOYEES AFTER THE ELECTION RESULTS, EXCEPT IN EXTREME CIRCUMSTANCES THAT THREATEN THE SAFETY OF STUDENTS, FACULTY OR STAFF; TO PROVIDE THAT A CONTRACTED EMPLOYEE SHALL CONTINUE TO BE PAID UNTIL THE END OF THE CONTRACT YEAR UNLESS THE CONTRACTED EMPLOYEE IS FOUND TO BE A THREAT; TO PROVIDE THAT ANY EMPLOYEE OF ANY SCHOOL DISTRICT SHALL NOT BE PROHIBITED FROM PARTICIPATING IN THE ELECTION PROCESS; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
