Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 25-11-103, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO PROVIDE THAT FOR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM RETIRING ON OR AFTER JULY 1, 2005, WHEN DETERMINING THE MEMBER'S AVERAGE COMPENSATION BASED ON THE LAST 48 MONTHS OF EARNED COMPENSATION, THE AVERAGE COMPENSATION SHALL BE COMPUTED AS THE GREATER OF THE LAST 48 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS OF EARNED COMPENSATION REPORTED FOR THE MEMBER INCLUDING THE FINAL MONTHLY WAGE POSTING, OR THE 48 CONSECUTIVE MONTHS IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE FINAL MONTHLY WAGE POSTING AND EXCLUDING THE FINAL MONTHLY WAGE POSTING; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
