Title: AN ACT TO AMEND SECTION 41-61-59, MISSISSIPPI CODE OF 1972, TO REQUIRE REPORTING TO THE MEDICAL EXAMINER OF DEATHS OF PERSONS WHO HAVE TAKEN AN OVERDOSE OF ANY DRUG, REGARDLESS OF WHETHER THE DRUG OVERDOSE WAS THE SOLE CAUSE OF DEATH; TO PROVIDE THAT IN THE CASE OF THOSE TYPES OF DEATHS, THE MEDICAL EXAMINER SHALL REPORT THE DEATHS TO THE MISSISSIPPI BUREAU OF NARCOTICS, WHICH SHALL MAINTAIN RECORDS ON ALL THOSE DEATHS REPORTED TO IT; AND FOR RELATED PURPOSES.
